Hanging With Jeordie White
By Ray Zell

How many Valentine's cards will you be sending?

Probably none this year, I normally would but being on the road it's harder to commit to one person because you just get into a certain pattern. You get drunk and stuff happens. But I have been in relationships before and I have been faithful to them as well.

Would you put your name in a Valentine or be mysterious?

I would put my name on it.

What's the most you ever got?

Well, I suppose I've gotten Valentines from fans, but I guess that's not real. But when I was in middle school, you got a Valentine from everyone in the class. So the most I got was 26 of them.

Are you a romantic?

Well, I think love is the most important thing there is, for sure. I can't think of anything better.

Has a girl ever given you flowers?

Yes, and its so out of the ordinary and unexpected. I think flowers are great, they smell good and brighten up the house.

What's the most romantic thing anyone's ever done for you?

Took off their pants.

And you for them?

Wore a condom.

What will you be doing on Valentine's night?

I'll be in New Zealand, a great place to be on Valentine's Day. They made "Lord of the Rings" there and they make, er, pretty birds.

You mean ladies?

Yes, I seem to be painting myself as the Burt Reynolds of rock n' roll.

What would be your ideal romantic scenario?

Somewhere up in the mountains, snowed in. No telephone or TV. Real secluded.

And what music would you use to woo?

Probably something by Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees.

Who would be your fantasy person to share this ideal Valentine's scenario?

Probably Audrey Hepburn circa "Breakfast at Tiffany's".

Have you ever been truly, madly in love?

Absolutely.

And had your heart broken?

Yes. Which is probably in league with death. You lose a giant part of yourself. It's definitely horrible, but going through it makes you a better person. There's life beyond heartbreak and it's even better.
