Wednesday, 9.23.09

[15:44] The Bicycle Music Company has announced that it has entered into three separate licensing agreements with Marilyn Manson, Twiggy and Chris Vrenna for exclusive rights to 100% of the songs on The High End of Low. What this translates to, for those who are interested in this sort of thing, is a high likelihood of music from the record being used in film, television and other similar media outlets. You can read the full press release here.

[05:53] Despite Manson being ill, the show in Montreal did go on last night. Check out a review from the Montreal Gazette here. There's a few pictures as well.

[21:05] Some pictures and a write up of the London, Ontario show can be found at this location (note: there's also some cool pics (and a review) from a 1997 show in London just below it, if anyone's interested). I've also added 8 photos to the Manson Live gallery. One other update - I've updated the Store with links to where you can purchase some of the music that Jeordie's worked on most recently outside of Marilyn Manson -- the Cinema Bizarre record, Adam Freeland's record and the two Oasis remixes. Good stuff and definitely worth adding to your collection if you haven't already done so.

[12:24] According to an announcement on Blu-ray.com, a show that Marilyn Manson performed in Los Angeles on the Guns, God & Government tour in 2001 will be released in Blu Ray format by Eagle Rock Entertainment on November 17th. Though they don't give the date of the performance, I am assuming that, since it refers to the show as the "last night of the world tour", this would be the special one-off October 8, 2001 performance at the Olympic Auditorium which was broadcast as a pay-per view.

Three new photos from the Mayhem tour have been added to the Marilyn Manson Live gallery.

Sunday, 9.13.09

[08:23] What do you do in Victoria, BC after playing a successful, sold out show with Marilyn Manson? Maybe you head over to Soprano's Karaoke & Sports Bar for a beer and a little Oasis karaoke. Nice job, man!

Friday, 9.11.09

[05:46] The Calgary Sun has published some photos from last night's show at the Jubilee Auditorium. #10 is a nice one of Jeordie. Also, another song from the new album made its live debut last night: "Wight Spider" (in place of "I Want To Kill You Like They Do In The Movies").

Tuesday, 9.08.09

[11:45] Video of Manson's performance of "I Want To Kill You Like They Do In The Movies".

[07:02] Wrapped up a string of shows last night at Portland, Oregon's very intimate Roseland Theatre. The set list continues to evolve with "I Want To Kill You Like They Do In The Movies" added in place of "Running To The Edge Of The World" (which had been added in Reno last week) and "Dried Up, Tied And Dead To The World" (apparently not played live since 1997!) added just before closing out the show with "The Beautiful People". It was a brilliant performance on all levels, and Jeordie just gets more and more amazing on guitar. Must take leave now and go back to the real world, but will continue to keep a close watch on all upcoming performances from afar.

Monday, 9.07.09

[07:01] All of the ticket onsale info for the UK dates is now posted at See Tickets, which also lists a new show on 12.15.09 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Tuesday, 9.01.09

[09:39] Watch "Running To The Edge Of The World" being performed live in Reno at this location.

Sunday, 8.30.09

[07:25] Go here to watch a few minutes of behind-the-scenes footage taken in Reno last night, just before the curtain dropped. There's a few other videos that have been added to this page in the last couple days, which appears to belong to a Manson staff member. Might want to add it to your bookmarks so as not to miss further updates. Really good show last night and if you were following the site's Twitter page, you know that "Running To The Edge Of The World" was added to the set list. Will be attending more shows later this week and will try to update from those as well.

Friday, 8.28.09

[08:20] Goon Moon have announced on their twitter page that Jeordie and Fred filmed a "What's In My Bag" segment for amoeba.com yesterday. They will let everyone know when it's up on Amoeba's site.

Wednesday, 8.26.09

[19:45] Just a reminder that Cinema Bizarre's new album, BANG!, which features Jeordie's remix of "Love Songs (They Kill Me)", is now available for purchase on iTunes.

Tuesday, 8.11.09

[06:36] Jeordie has once again lent his time and talent to creating another remix, this time for German synthpop group Cinema Bizarre. The track is called "Love Songs (They Kill Me)" and it appears on the band's first album ever to be released in the U.S., entitled "BANG!". The album will be available digitally on August 25th. Read all the details here and view the full tracklisting here.

Friday, 7.31.09

[11:24] Continuing the tour date scavenger hunt, I found another Euro date: November 19th at the Palladium in Koln, Germany. Tickets are on sale now. Also, there are a couple of nice photos of Jeordie from the Mayhem Festival tour that I hadn't seen yet here. Just as with the U.S./Canadian tour, looks as if we'll be getting dates for the Fall Euro tour a few at a time, day by day. In addition to dates in Italy I posted a few days ago, there is now a confirmed date in Paris at Le Zenith on December 21st. Tickets are already on sale at this location. Dates are allegedly also confirmed for November 29th at Le Zenith in Toulouse, France and December 6th at Le Zenith in Lille, France, although I don't have ticket information for either of these two as yet.

Tuesday, 7.28.09

[10:28] More gaps in the U.S./Canadian tour itinerary have been filled as follows: Ticketmaster has posted a date at The Myth in Maplewood, MN for 9.14.09 and dates in Montreal (9.22.09) and Quebec (9.23.09) have been posted here.

Friday, 7.24.09

Thursday, 7.23.09

Also LastFM is showing a few new overseas dates: October 24th at Makuhari Messe in Tokyo, Japan, November 5th at the Mazda Palace in Milan, Italy and November 7 at Palasport in Florence, Italy.

[11:18] If anyone on the Mayhem Festival tour thought they were going home on August 16th, they're not. An additional show has just been added for that date in Oklahoma City, OK at the Zoo Ampitheatre. Tix go on sale tomorrow, July 24th at 10:00 a.m. Also, Marilyn Manson's Portland, OR show at the Roseland Theater is confirmed, with tickets going on sale July 31st through Ticketswest.

Wednesday, 7.22.09

[11:05] More Canadian tour dates - Toronto, London and Ottawa. [10:07] Marilyn Manson's myspace page has been updated with the new tour dates, including two that I didn't have yesterday -- 8.24.09 at The Grove in Anaheim, CA and 8.25.09 at The Fox Theatre in Pomona, CA. Also, "zestytoppings" emailed me to let me know that pollstar.com is showing at 9.7.09 show at the Roseland Theatre in Portland, OR, though it is not yet listed on the venue's website, or Manson's myspace.

Sunday, 7.12.09

Wednesday, 7.01.09

[19:32] Per this, looks like we've got another interview with Jeordie coming our way soon on nrv-tv.com. Since the site is in French, can't make out if a specific date has been given, so this is just a heads up for everyone to keep an eye out. You can check their youtube channel as well.

Thursday, 6.25.09

As of this posting, there's only "Four Rusted Horses" and "Pretty As A Swastika", but this person claims to have recorded the whole show, so expect more clips to be added. Great quality so far and also has some decent closeup footage.

Wednesday, 6.24.09

[15:51] Great news -- well, if you are fluent in French, anyway. An interview with Jeordie/Twiggy will be featured in the July issue of the French music magazine Rock One (Issue No. 56) which hits the streets on July 3rd. This is one of his first interviews since rejoining Marilyn Manson, so it should be interesting. I will try to get a hold of an English translation and post it here for those of us who don't speak French.

[09:59] The Fan Reviews page has been updated with Ezekhiel's review of the Vienne performance.

Tuesday, 6.23.09

Of course, everyone is welcome to sign up and post in the forums here as well.

Friday, 6.12.09

[19:05] OK, things are still tentative, but just wanted to give everyone the heads up to keep watch: Marilyn Manson plays the UK's Download Festival tomorrow night, June 13th, and as I posted here recently, there is the possibility of being able to watch the performance live. As of this posting, Manson's performance is still listed on the schedule as "TBC", i.e. "to be confirmed". Should that status change to a blue check mark, that means the go ahead has been given for the show be streamed live on the festival's website. Let's keep our fingers crossed! FYI, in order to determine what time the band would be taking the stage in your corner of the globe, you can use this handy time zone converter.

Thursday, 6.11.09

[15:55]] Some pretty decent video clips from tonight's show in Bratislava can be found here.

[14:30] Marilyn Manson is interviewed in the new issue (No. 55) of French rock magazine Rock One. Below are a few excerpts where he gives insight regarding the making of The High End of Low with Twiggy and their renewed partnership. Thanks to Ezekhiel for the translation.

Rock One : On "Eat Me Drink Me" you showed us the most emotional side of Brian Warner. Did you try to go on this path with "The High End Of Low" or did you create a new character, as you did for most of your previous records?

MM : With my last record "Eat Me Drink Me", it was difficult to understand who I really was. I often have trouble listening to it. There is only one song, "If I Was Your Vampire", that I would maybe play live again because it represents a part of my life, a destroyed persona who tries to rebuild himself. The new record is more about being in a fraternal relationship, a friendship that I share now and that I used to share in the past. Musically, there are things I have done without Twiggy that I am proud of, and he went on his own path. We both grew apart from each other when we should have grown together as brothers. Now we're back together again. We made this new record together, and it is something we couldn't have done separately. In a certain way it is the album we both always dreamt to write.

Rock One : How does this brotherhood shine through the album?

MM : The writing of this album began when Twiggy started playing and writing songs that didn't sound like anything he has done in the past. This record owns the characteristics of all that he loves, of all our influences, but his attitude was different. I thought that he was perhaps behind me, that he expressed this pain in his writings because just like me he had to go through this emotional battle mixing loss, love and romance. He is like my little brother. When we were away from each other, we said to ourselves that we had to grow up, meet people, I mean women of course. And he went through the same situation as me. We have the same sensitivity, but he hides it by seducing more women. When we found ourselves again, we realized that there was a deep void in our lives that we had to understand. Being there as a friend while writing the new album is what I missed for "Eat Me Drink Me". My partner at that time (Tim Skold) who had replaced Twiggy, wasnt allowed to take inspiration from his (Twiggy's) universe because he didnt belong to it. We (Twiggy and I) are writing music from a different point of view, it comes from the heart. My relationship with my ex partner was more financial than spiritual. When I listen to Twiggy's music, it sounds exactly as if I was the one who wrote it, not only because it sounds like some heart broken guys, but also because its sometimes violent, sometimes confused.

[13:15] I've updated the Press page with a really great review of The High End of Low from the new issue of Metal Hammer magazine. Read here.

Marilyn Manson is scheduled to perform on the 13th. It is not yet confirmed whether or not Manson/Interscope Records will allow the performance to be aired, but let's hope so! [18:06] The long wait is finally over. You can now listen to The High End of Low in its entirety at Marilyn Manson's official myspace. The album hits record stores this coming Tuesday, May 26th.

[17:43] It's official: Jeordie is Marilyn Manson's "new" guitarist. This is what Manson had to say about it in the new issue of Metal Hammer [Germany]:

"Twiggy will be the guitarist for the first time on the upcoming tour. When I first met him he was a guitarist in another band. I convinced him to play bass -- in my opinion he's the best bass player in the universe and after "The High End of Low", he's also the best guitar player I've ever heard. I think the way he plays the guitar is so arrogant, proud and complicated - it's everything at the same time and it reflects his personality."

The upcoming tour looks to be an exciting one indeed! Speaking of which -- as always, this site welcomes your reviews and photos. See the Contact page for info on how to submit your material.

Wednesday, 5.20.09

[12:42] Marilyn Manson recently spoke to online music blog Noise Creep about the making of the Arma-Goddamn-Motherfucking-Geddon video and also comments on Jeordie's guitar playing on the song itself. Read the article at this location.

[10:15] Will Jeordie be switching from bass to guitar for the upcoming Manson tour? Things certainly seem to be pointing in that direction. First, there's clips of him on guitar in the video for "Arma-Goddamn-Motherfucking-Geddon. And now, though I don't have a translated transcript in hand as yet, word is that Manson has confirmed the switch in an interview that can be found in the new issue of the German Metal Hammer. Stay tuned...

[15:55] For the first time in several years, it appears that Marilyn Manson will once again have an official message board. The new board is still a work in progress and hasn't officially launched in its new format, but you can check it out in its present incarnation and get all the updates at this location.

[12:52] The Quietus has posted an in-depth, track-by-track review of The High End of Low on their website and you can read it here.

Monday, 05.11.09

[14:37] If you're coming to LA for Marilyn Manson's 5/22 in-store appearance (now confirmed to be the entire band), you might want to consider sticking around on Saturday, the 23rd as well to be one of the first to hear The High End of Low in its entirety. According to its website, Bar Sinister will be holding a "very special" listening party for The High End of Low that evening, though there are no details as yet as to what time this will take place (there is a show there that night as well), how much it costs (if anything) to get in, etc. The club is located at 1652 N. Cherokee in Hollywood and if you want more information, you can try giving them a call at 323.462.1934. If I hear anything else, I'll post it here.

The final four tracks of Adam Freeland's record "Cope" have been added to freeland.fm. Jeordie is featured on bass on "Morning Sun". The album should be available for pre-order at the website any day now.

Friday, 05.08.09

[18:16] Marilyn Manson will be making an in-store appearance on Friday, May 22nd at 6 p.m. at the Hot Topic store located at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, CA. You will have to pre-order the deluxe edition CD and T-shirt bundle at this store only, at which time you will receive a wristband which guarantees that you will get in on the 22nd. Details can be found in a blog posted at Manson's official myspace page today. Since the announcement references "meeting the BAND", sounds like it's safe to assume that Jeordie will be there as well. Should I find out differently between now and then, I'll be sure to let everyone know.

Thursday, 05.07.09

[18:40] A new promo site was launched today for The High End of Low and though there isn't a lot of content there at the moment, if you're on Facebook there is an application you can add to your page which will allow you to preview new tracks from the record each week (you will need to click on the scrolling lyrics). Right now there are three clips available: "Devour", "Arma-Goddamn-Motherfucking-Geddon" and "We're From America". Seems like these might be a bit longer than the clips currently available on iTunes.

"Pretty As A Swastika" has been added to the list of alternate version tracks from The High End of Low, but so far, it looks like it will only be available as a bonus track on a CD exclusive to independent record retailer Vintage Vinyl. Go here for the details and to purchase.

Wednesday, 05.06.09

[22.49] Clips of all the songs on The High End of Low can now be heard on iTunes. Or, you can check them out here as well.

[11:13] Four more tracks have been uploaded to freeland.fm and Jeordie's now confirmed as playing on second track on the album, a cover of the 1973 David Essex song "Rock On". Really good stuff, go check it out!

You can now pre-order a "deluxe" digital version of The High End of Low from iTunes which includes an exclusive bonus track entitled "Fifteen". Since there is a track on the standard version of the album called "15", I'm not sure if the bonus track is a remix of "15", alternate version of "15" or a completely different track altogether. If you do pre-order the record, you will also receive the pre-order only bonus track "Into The Fire (Alternate Version)".

Wednesday, 04.29.09

[09:55] "Arma-Goddamn-Motherfucking-Geddon", the first official single from The High End of Low, will be released in the UK on May 18th, available in CD format or as a 7" picture disc. You can pre-order it at this location.

In non-Manson news, you can head over to freeland.fm and listen to the first four tracks off Adam Freeland's forthcoming album, Cope, along with commentary on each of the tracks. Not sure if Jeordie plays on the entire record, but he is confirmed to be playing on "Under Control", which you can also download for free at the same location. Four additional songs will be added each Monday up to May 11th, at which time the album will become available for pre-order. The album is set for a June release.

Sunday, 04.26.09

Tuesday, 04.21.09

[20:49] Both blabbermouth.net and theprp.com are confirming that Marilyn Manson has shot a video for the single "Arma-Goddamn-Motherfucking-Geddon", directed by Los Angeles filmmaker Delaney Bishop. The single is set for a May 5th release. Further, theprp.com reports that The High End Of Low will also be available as a 2 CD deluxe version, containing not only the 15 original tracks, but also 6 bonus tracks including a remix of "Arma-Goddamn-Motherfucking-Geddon" by Teddybears. Not sure, but I'm going to guess that the bonus tracks will be the same as what will be included in the enhanced audio Japanese import I reported on a couple of weeks ago. The High End of Low hits U.S. record stores on May 26th.

Also, if there's not a Hot Topic store near you, or if you just don't feel like going to Hot Topic, you can buy their exclusive "We're From America" CD single on line by clicking here. "Four Rusted Horses (Opening Titles Version)" is confirmed as the B-Side.

Monday, 04.13.09

[15:37] "Arma-Goddamn-Motherfucking-Geddon" premiered today on French radio station LeMouv. Not sure what the status is as far as airplay in the U.S. at this point, but for a limited time you can still hear the track on the LeMouv's website by following these instructions.

[09:10] An exclusive "We're From America" CD single will be available starting tomorrow, April 14th, at Hot Topic stores and will allegedly also feature a track entitled "Four Rusted Horses (Opening Title Version)". The single is priced at $1.99.

Meanwhile, keep an eye on Manson's official website, where the track "We're From America" is expected to be made available for free download sometime today.

It will be available as a digital single on April 7th. It is also reported that "Arma-goddamn-motherfucking-geddon" hits the radio airwaves on April 13th. Read the full article at this location.

Wednesday, 03.18.09

[10:23] With "The High End of Low" just two months away, this week’s issue of Kerrang magazine features one of the first full length interviews with Marilyn Manson to hit the press, and you can check out a scan and full transcript at this location. I’m not sure at this point to what extent Jeordie will be doing any press, but in the meantime, in order to keep everyone as informed as possible regarding the new record, I’ll be linking to whatever interviews/articles I find that give insight into the making of the album, Jeordie’s role, etc. Also, two new European tour dates have surfaced. The first one is on June 11th at Junge Garde in Dresden, Germany and tickets are available here. The second date is on June 22 at Theatre Antique in Vienne, France (can't make out whether or not tickets are currently on sale for this one).

Monday, 03.16.09

You can check out a review of that here (thanks to ezekhiel for the link).

Also, pictures of Jeordie and Wes Borland at the ETP Festival afterparty, published in a Korean online music blog, can be viewed at this location.

Tuesday, 03.10.09

[19:24] Just an update for anyone wondering about the title of the purported single as reported today in Metal Hammer. To date, no *official* compromises or changes have been made to the track's title and as far as I know it remains "Armagoddamnmotherfuckinggeddon" "Arma-Goddamn-Motherfucking-Geddon" as revealed by Manson in his interview with "Revolver" magazine late last year.

[10:14] Metal Hammer music magazine reports today that “The High End Of Low” will be released in the UK on May 18th, with the single ["Armageddon"] being released a week prior on May 11th. For those of us in the U.S., this most likely means release dates of May 19th and 12th, respectively. Also, Sean Beavan talks a little about working on the record and reveals two new track titles here. The wait is almost over...

Saturday, 01.31.09

[18:26] According to a Mayhem Festival Press Release, the new Manson record is set to drop sometime in May. No confirmation from Manson or Interscope as yet, but since the band will be heading out on tour in June, a May release makes perfect sense.

[11:40] More updates on the Manson record...

Rudy Coby posted a blog yesterday revealing the title of the first track to be "Devour". Read all of what he has to say here. Be sure to read the replies for even more info.

Then there's this quote, taken from one of his replies to his January 5 blog:

"And, did I mention what a God Twiggy is on this album? Well, I just did."

'nuff said.

Thursday, 01.08.09

[15:25] While searching around for live performance stuff to add to the site's new youtube page, I came across some footage dating back to April 2002, when Jeordie, Josh Homme, Dave Ghrohl and Dave Catching got together to perform a one-off show with Nick Oliveri's Mondo Generator at the Troubadour nightclub in Los Angeles. First time I've ever seen any footage from this performance, and I thought I'd share it here for the benefit of anyone else who may not have seen it. Enjoy "Ode to Clarissa". (Jeordie's the guy in the suit and monkey mask).

Tuesday, 01.06.09

[13:10] The Media page has been updated with links to the following: Nardwuar's December 2005 interview with Jeordie and Aaron North and a July 2007 Camp Freddy Radio Show on which Jeordie was a guest. In related news, this website now has its own page on youtube. This will be used as a place to archive videos from all over the internet, material I don't have on the Media page interviews, live footage, etc. into one convenient location. It's a work in progress and if you come across something you think should be added, send it to me. There isn't any exclusive/original video footage on the page at this point, but should I ever have anything of that nature in the future, that's probably where it will go.

Monday, 01.05.09

[06:53] Been looking for a reason to get excited about the upcoming Manson record? Here you go:

"Without giving anything away - (I'm a Magician, after all, and keeping Secrets to someone who trusts me is my bond) - I'd say what stands out is how fucking raw and heart-felt the lyrics are on this one. Blood oozes out of the speakers on this one. Twiggy being back and allowed to fucking go crazy is a revelation - everything he absorbed being in A Perfect Circle or NIN but was held back from doing is laid bare here."

This is a quote from a myspace blog posted by magician Rudy Coby, a long time friend of the Manson camp who has had the privilege of hearing the new record several times. You can read the rest of what he has to say on the subject here. You'll need to scroll down a bit, as his description of the album actually appears in one of his replies to a fan.

Even if you have never been a fan of Marilyn Manson, the fact that Jeordie has obviously been pouring so much of himself into this record over the last several months should be enough of a reason to know it's not gonna suck. I have a feeling you won't be disappointed by giving this one a chance!
